This single estate, high elevation green tea is a rare artisanal tea from Kenya with a superior leaf grade. Growing at high altitudes of over 2,000m allows the tea plants to grow at slower rates and develop complex flavors that do not become harsh and bitter. The plants also grow in volcanic soil under the sun all year round, allowing the leaves to take on a light and grassy flavor with different acidity than green teas from other regions. This tea is hand plucked by small-scale farming families that are paid sustainable wages to help them pay for education.
